How to reach Katra (Jammu) by Flights (by Air)

As there are no direct flights available from Mumbai to Vaishno Devi. However, you can board any flight that connects to the Jammu Airport from Mumbai Airport.

The distance from Jammu airport to Katra is 50 KM which you can easily cover as there are buses available from Jammu state road transport running on that track or even you can rent private taxis as well till Katra.

Mumbai to Katra (Jammu) Trains

Fortunately, there is one direct train named “Swaraj Express” which departs from Bandra Railway Terminal at 07:55 AM (Day 1) and reaches Shree Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 17:10 on the next day.

The journey from Mumbai to Vaishno Devi is around 1,028 KM and takes approximately 33 hours and 24 halts during the journey to reach Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. The Swaraj Express is in service every Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday of the week.

Route of Swaraj Express Train takes you through the following major stations:

We would personally recommend you take a Swaraj Express Train instead of going by road as the train will be continuous and hassle-free as compared to a by-road route.

The nearest railway station to Vaishno Devi temple is Katra Railway Station which is just 1.3 KM away from Katra and Mata Vaishno Devi Expedition begins from Katra.
